Solo on display in the Links Gallery, 2008-09

A feast of photography continues at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery with Solo, the first graduation exhibition by students from the Bachelor of Arts (Photography) at the Wagga Wagga campus of Charles Sturt University. The images on display in Solo concentrate on portraiture, yet they still reveal a wide variety of photographic styles and techniques. This diversity forecasts the range of photographic practices to which these students aspire.

The success of the works in Solo reflects the culmination of intense study bu these students as a group within the School of Visual & Performing Arts at Charles Sturt University. At the same time, each of these committed and talented practitioners has brought their own identity to their work. This is a consequence of geographical location equally balanced with a national perspective, and a determined eye on the world stage. As the title of the exhibition implies, these students are ready to begin the next stage of their journey.

Participants in Solo include Lacey Aitken, Sarah Beltrame, Timothy Crutchett, Melanie Giacomin, Victor Gross, Anny Jacopetti, Kate Lewis, Sarah Mifsud, Caitlin Morrison, Matthew Regan, Sophie Schirmer, Guy Sherlock, Erwin Strobel and Christie Stylian. These will be the first of many students to graduate from the Bachelor of Arts (Photography) degree course at the Wagga Wagga campus of Charles Sturt University.
