A Lecture by Dr Sam Bowker

In this provocative public lecture, Associate Professor Sam Bowker will speak candidly about the purpose and future of art in adamant opposition to Ai. He will outline the award-winning radical design of VPA107: Disruptive Media (co-taught with Dr Robert Lewis) at Charles Sturt University - a remarkable visual and performing arts first-year subject.

In an era where ‘Option Ai’ seems alluring, new and shiny, what will it take for humanity to re-value and replace what has been stolen, lost, and broken and what can we do to help?

Dr Sam Bowker is Associate Professor in Creative Arts, Art History and Visual Culture at Charles Sturt University, where he is also the Sub-Dean Graduate Research for the Faculty of Arts and Education. His public lectures include The Art of Everywhere Else, Art & Books, and many other topics. He is also an artist, writer and shadow puppeteer for Green Beetle, a performing arts collective in Wagga Wagga.
