Em is an experimental emerging artist based in Wagga Wagga whose practice centres on sustainability and place. Using found, recycled, and natural materials, she creates works that reflect ecological stories and explore the intersection of art and science. Recently, she has been using beeswax pastels made from botanical pigments on horse poo paper. Em is passionate about fostering eco-conscious creativity and engaging her local community in conversations around environment and art.

'Allelopathy' is a community art project rooted in sustainable and experimental art practices which will examine organisms that chemically inhibit the Wagga landscape. Throughout the residency, members of the public will be invited to transform foraged fallen gum leaves, agricultural waste (including horse poo), and human generated litter into paper, botanical pigments, and sculptural forms alongside artist Em Shannon.
