About

Remapping Erased Landscapes is a commissioned exhibition of all new works from Sydney based artist Mei Zhao.

Mei Zhao’s work explores the history of early Chinese migration in this region. Informed by multiple field trips and residencies researching Chinese market gardens in this region, including Wagga Wagga, Narrandera, Adelong and Tumut. Using painting, drawing, textiles and site installation, the artist re-imagines the presence of thousands of Chinese people who have been lost to history.

This exhibition is supported by Create NSW.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government's Visions of Australia and Regional Arts Fund programs.
