Katthy Cavaliere explores narrative, using personal possessions, performance, installation and photography. Nest, inspired by her mother’s death to ovarian cancer, the disease claiming her life three years’ later, returns to the womb. With her mother’s clothing, she constructs a cliff-side nest at Sydney’s Clovelly Beach, often visited with her mother. Wearing only her mother’s stockings on her head, the film captures fluttering stockings and the movements performed by the artist.
