Millie Hocking presents her new exhibition Australian Flora in Stitches, where she explores her love and obsession with Australian flora with her self-taught contemporary embroidery.
Through her appreciation of gardens and nature, Millie is empowered to create textiles filled with the same joy that she feels in those experiences. Millie wants others to notice the beauty in Australian flowers that surround us everyday and to encourage others to value and protect them. A passion for sustainability also brought Millie to upcycling and she uses her business, The Shy Fox, to promote and teach others about slow clothing and embroidery. “Upcycling stitches less waste”.
