Join us at the Gallery for an engaging morning of stimulating talks and a panel discussion talk about sustainable building and living. The discussion will explore ways of shaping a greener future through architecture, living well, sustainability and stewardship of land.

Sally Bryant is a well-known breakfast radio presenter on ABC Riverina across the broad reaches of the Riverina who has been telling the stories of the culture and communities of our region for over a decade.
Rick Lindsay is the MD of Earth Structures, and a local Wagga person originally. He has worked around the world on sustainable building design technology. Earth Structures Group specialises in the construction of rammed earth walls which produce unique thermal and aesthetic benefits.
Carly Martin is the founding director of Akimbo Architecture. In 2019, Martin founded AKIMBO Architecture as a forward-thinking design studio, committed to finding new directions for design solutions to create architecture that is innovative and progressive.
Dr Chris Orchard joins the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery in 2023 as its Environmental Thinker in Residence. Dr. Orchard brings a significant background in interdisciplinary ecological knowledge and environmental scholarship spanning two decades. Christopher’s biocultural knowledge will be leveraged throughout the year to initiate dialogue, facilitate conversations, explore questions, conduct research, connect people/places and to share-learning in a spirit of reciprocity and care.
Pete Reed moved with his young family to the Wagga area in 2020 and commenced work on their house in Gelston Park in 2021. He has long had a deep interest in off-grid living, regenerative agriculture, and passive architecture. Now, after one year living completely off the grid in their new home, Pete will share his thoughts, lessons, mistakes, and the highs and lows of off-grid living.
