Join Gamilaraay artist Juanita McLauchlan as she inspires you to experiment and create in this one-day workshop of printmaking and sewing. Using screens, lino and recycled fabric, emerge from this workshop with a new piece of upcycled fashion or a necklace!
Note: please bring clothing to upcycle; basic sewing skills required.
Juanita McLauchlan is a Gamilaraay woman living on Wiradjuri country in Wagga Wagga. Juanita enjoys the thrill, complexity, texture and chaos and control of the printmaking medium. While her material and conceptual problem-solving processes of making are experimental, Juanita’s work is equally indebted to, and guided by her indigenous heritage.
This workshop is delivered in conjunction with the exhibition Hand Me Down, Style Me Up led by Wiradjuri elder Aunty Cheryl Penrith. These programs focus on preloved clothing and sustainable fashion.
