Join local textile artist and designer Marita Macklin in this exciting and inventive workshop using embroidery techniques to upcycle your pre-loved clothes. Using sewing machines and hand embroidery techniques, Marita will help you to transform your well-loved garments, giving them new life!
Participants must bring clothes to embroider.
Light lunch provided.
Sewing machines provided however, personal machines welcomed. Basic sewing machine skills preferred.
Marita Macklin is a local textile artist and designer who uses embroidery as a pivotal technique in her work. Using vintage industrial embroidery machines, she creates individual one-of-a-kind textiles, fashion and artworks.
This workshop is delivered in conjunction with exhibition Hand Me Down, Style Me Up led by Wiradjuri elder Aunty Cheryl Penrith. These programs focus on preloved clothing and sustainable fashion.
