Newly commissioned by the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, Said Han is a play written by Ang Collins and brought to life by the performers of Freeroam Theatre.
The play explores themes of love, loss, and the deep connection and care people have for the land they call home.
Said Han is the story of a young woman who returns to her run-down family farm in the Riverina after the sudden death of her father. Confronted by the ghosts of her past and weighty decisions about the future, Hannah chooses to stay and return the land to good health.
A Wagga Wagga Art Gallery Green 2023 program, Said Han explores land management and care in the Riverina. These themes are also reflected in the companion exhibition, Said Hanrahan: Land. Care. Climate. Crisis, currently on display in the Museum of the Riverina (Historic Council Chambers).

Ang Collins
Ang Collins is a playwright and screenwriter originally from Newcastle, NSW, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Languages) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Fine Arts (Writing for Performance) from NIDA. Her work has been produced on independent and professional stages in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Newcastle, with notable contributions to the Screen Australia-supported animated series, Single! Beyond her creative pursuits.
Freeroam Theatre
Freeroam Theatre is a professional troupe of theatre performers based in Wagga Wagga, who offer performances and workshops to general audiences and young people across the Riverina.
