Straight out of the urban jungles of Western Sydney – Worlds Collide presents an afternoon of global music on the lawns of the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.
Worlds Collide crosses the boundaries between cultures and communities galvanising pathways for new contemporary music in Australia. Fun, authentic, energetic and engaging, Worlds Collide melds languages and genres to make you think and dance, with seven cultures fusing hip hop rhymes, melodic hooks, African percussion, Latin drums, Silk Road melodies and heavy metal guitars.
They have created a cross cultural sound from Western Sydney with a pop sensibility, reflecting their local and our global community diversity. Born out of Western Sydney, which has one of the largest multicultural communities in Australia, Worlds Collide’s sound is built on the diversity of its neighbourhoods, fusing the regions cultural assets into a contemporary new Australian ‘Western Sydney Sound’.
‘As culturally diverse artists we always wanted to see and hear ourselves reflected on the stages, radios and screens growing up with music, but this was a rarity’ says hip hop artist Eskie MC. 'Worlds collide has changed that – we are intergenerational, tri-lingual, cross-genre, and cross-cultural, and speak from the heart in terms of unity, social justice and people power.’
