Zanny Begg: Artist and Filmmaker in Residence

Saturday 22 June-28 June 2024

Zanny Begg sits in her studio, colourful fabric on the table in front of her. She is smiling.

In 2024 and 2025 Zanny Begg will be Artist and Filmmaker in Residence at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery. Across the two-year project, the Bulli-based artist will undertake research and development visits to Wagga Wagga, where she will be in residence at the Wagga Wagga City Library’s Writers Room and the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s New Media Project Space.

During her residency, Begg will work closely with women in Wagga Wagga’s Yazidi community to collaboratively create a film that tells their own stories. To realise this creative collaboration, she will work with key personnel at the Wagga Wagga City Library, Wagga Multicultural Council and STARTTS.
