The outside calls me into it – the blue and warmth of a big sky day lies in waiting

Reap 2013

Kirstie Rea Reap 2013, glass, rakes

This ground-breaking exhibition explores the potential for close connections to places outside of cities - rural places that sustain all but only a few have the privilege to care for. Rea explores the daily operations and creates sculptured surfaces that hold form with a grace and strength. Her recent works epitomise the classic elements of Australian contemporary glass: the seductive surfaces created by cold-working, and the connection with the Australian natural landscape, in its purest and most simple form.

Launch: Friday 6 December, 6:00-8:00pm

Lunchtime Lecture: Friday 8 November, 12:00 noon until 1:00pm
