Across the Winter School Holidays, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery presents Freeze Short Film Festival with workshops, film competitions and a short film screening afternoon for the region's youth.


Workshops

The workshops will focus on animation, acting and performance, as well as fundamental skills sessions in editing your own videos. The workshops will be presented across a range of dates and facilitated by animation and motion designer Alice Peacock, as well as emerging local theatre company Freeroam Theatre.

Short Film Competition

Entering the film showcase: 

The short film competition will open for entries from Saturday 2 July and close at 4pm on Wednesday 13 July.

Terms & Conditions of Entry:

  • Short films are to be between 1 - 5 minutes in length.
  • Competition is open to youth ages 12 - 26 years.
  • Short films must use original content.
  • Music accompanying films must not be copyrighted. Either use original music or attribute. Participants will be shown this further in editing session. Please email Tayla for further clarification or ways to import sound: martin.tayla@wagga.nsw.gov.au
  • Films deemed inappropriate will be with drawn from the film competition & participants will be notified.
  • Open to ages 12 - 26 years from Riverina region, or participants (outside LGA) who attended the workshops are also eligible.

Prizes to be won:

  • Animation :12-18 yrs: $200 voucher to Eckersleys
  • Animation:19 - 26 yrs: $250 voucher to JB-HiFi
  • Performance: 12-18 yrs: $200 voucher to Eckersleys
  • Performance:19-26 yrs: $250 voucher to JB-HiFi
  • Peoples choice - $100 voucher to Forum6 Wagga Wagga (Judged at film showcase)
